About me

Hello!

Welcome to my page. I am a science teacher at the Saint Marys Area High School. The classes that I will be teaching this year include EMT, STEM Lab, and intro to STEM. These courses are lab oriented that focus on the scientific method as well as the engineering design process to enable students to make discoveries on their own. Students will develop skills that will greatly prepare them for the ever changing fields of science, technology, engineering, and math.

My background is primarily in biology where I earned a BSEd in biology education at Clarion University. While attending, I had the opportunity to spend significant time in the laboratory where I studied a wide variety of science disciplines (microbiology, ecology, botany, organic chemistry, just to name a few). In addition, I have earned a masters degree in biology with a concentration in microbiology/infectious disease. My current PA state certifications include biology 7-12, general science 7-12, and technology education K-12.

I am also a Paramedic at Saint Marys Ambulance. With 12 years of field experience in EMS, I have been able to bring "real world" experience into the classroom.

Please feel free to browse through this page. If you have any questions you can email me at [email protected]
