HI There! I’m Mark Sekeres, and I’ve been teaching in the Saint Marys High School for over 25 years. I was first hired into this district as a Biology and Biological Science teacher. Later, when the TECH PREP movement came along, I transitioned over to Applied Physics (Principles of Technology) and E.R.T. (Engineering Related Technology) classes. I am currently still teaching the Principles of Technology courses and working up a new S.T.E.M. course (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math).
My Electrical Engineering background is from Penn State. I also have B.S. Degrees in Biology and Secondary Ed. Science from Clarion University as well as an M.S. Ed. in Science Education. Personally, science, math and engineering have always fascinated me. I enjoy problem solving and re-designing equipment when it wears out of fails – giving a single investment a new life! It is my hope that I can bring some of this skill and ability to my students.
If we are to best use our resources, we should endeavor to produce devices that are of good value, perform their intended purpose and give a long service life. Being good stewards of what we have been given can be accomplished with knowledge and forethought. There are too many examples of what not to do in the landfills of this planet!
