Meet the Teacher

A little about me...

I am a native of St. Marys, PA and a graduate of St. Marys Area High School. After graduation, I attended Susquehanna University (Selinsgrove, PA) and majored in Communications (Broadcast emphasis). I returned to the St. Marys Area School District and served as a learning facilitator until 2009. During my time as a facilitator, I earned my Master's Degree in Secondary Education (English certification) from the University of Phoenix. In 2009, I accepted a teaching position in the SMAHS English Department.  While here, I have taught English, Mass Media, Public Speaking, Theater Arts, and Newswriting. I was recently inducted into Delta Kappa Gamma (DKG), which is an international, professional honor society for women in education.

In addition to my classroom duties, I serve as a faculty committee member of the National Honor Society, one of the Senior Class Advisors, and participate with Media Livestreams. I also co-direct the Mock Accident when it's held at SMAHS and I prepare the daily announcements for the high school.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, my friends, and my cat, Oka (whom I adopted from the Elk County Humane Society in 2015).  I also enjoy reading, listening to music, bike riding, and golfing.
